COMMUNITY

MusicThe arts. Charitable organizations. The Fenton Winery & Brewery, since it inception, has always placed a high emphasis on community involvement.  Not only are we proud to call Fenton our home, we feel it is important to give back to the community that has been so generous and has helped us from the very beginning.  We know that we would not be where we are today if it wasn't for the wonderful support of the community - both from individuals and businesses alike.

MUSICAnybody who has wandered into the FWB on a Friday or Saturday night knows that music is a part of our soul.  Though not in the original plans, it seems music has become as much a part of the FWB as the wine and beer.  We pride ourselves on having Fenton's best variety of live music.  On any given weekend you might hear jazz, blues, rock & roll, folk, classical, Bluegrass, or Motown just to name a few.  We are also proud to be the home of the area's premier open mic night, held every 3rd Friday of the month.  Hosted by a great friend of the FWB, Bob Marr, this is the place to be if you want to hear some very talented musicians singing every variety of music all on one incredible night.

THE ARTSWalk into the FWB and you will quickly notice the beautiful art that adorns our walls.  The Lakes Area Visual Artists (LAVA) have been displaying their work at the FWB for over a year.  Their work, just like our music, runs the gamut of all styles: watercolor, oil, pencil, metal, acrulics, glass, and more.  They visit us every 1st Tuesday of the month to switch all of the artwork, and then join us for a reception in the evening.  We are lucky to be able to display this great work for everybody to see.

In keeping with the arts theme, we are also honored be one of the two primary ticket outlets for the Fenton Village Players.  This is a wonderful group of local actors that put on at least 3 or 4 productions each year and do a great job at it.  They have a new theater that is only about 5 minutes from the FWB.  Definitely worth the time to catch a play.

Do you like independent films? We are proud to be one of the original organizations to support the Fenton Film Series.  With movies showing every 2nd Wednesday night at the Fenton Community Center, we strive to help bring unique, independent films to a brodaer audiences.  Beverages and snacks are provided for free as a result of the generous contribution of several local businesses.

CHARITBLE ORGANIZATIONS. Along with the many charities that we support with donations, we have also hosted many non-profit organizations for fundraisers at the FWB.  We are proud to have partnered with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Flint River Watershed Coalition, and the Holly Academy Educaton Fund, among others.

The owners of the FWB also spend volunteer time to help local organizations.  Matt & Ginny are proud to be members of the Fenton Lions Club, an organization that helps those with visual impairments, an issue near to our hearts.  Along with participation in regular meetings and activites, they are the chairs for the Annual 4th of July Freedom Festival Chicken Dinner.

The Fenton Winery & Brewery is also involved in several local Chambers of Commerce, including the Fenton Regional CC, Holly Area CC, Swartz Creek CC, and the Grand Blanc CC.  These organizations are a wonderful asset to local businesses and the community as a whole.  On behalf of their member businesses, they organize community events such as the Tastes in Fenton and Grand Blanc, the Fenton Expo, Hometown Days in Swartz Creek, and the Dickens Festival in downtown Holly.
